One Week.

Has it really been a whole week since the world turned upside down?

The end of this week has been tedious. The past few days have been mostly waiting for test results for a few things, so I haven't posted anything here because I didn't want to say "Well he might have this or that but we don't know" and cause any undue worry.

The good news yesterday was that Dad got moved out of ICU. He was somewhat confused and frustrated by the transition, but seems to have settled in alright. It was already evening by the time he moved, so Micah spent the night with him.

The waiting game has been about infections and clots. He may have pneumonia. He's had two chest x-rays this week that show that "there's something there," so he's being treated as if he has pneumonia. He has a blood clot in his left arm and one in his right leg. He's being treated for that. And he has that filter inside him that was placed on Monday in order to protect his lungs from clots. They're testing him regularly for infections but I believe so far he's been clear.

He's been sleeping and mumbling in his sleep pretty much around the clock. Last night around 2am he was preaching loudly for a while that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

This afternoon Mom started playing recordings of music by Matt Maher in his room, and he stopped mumbling in his sleep. He tried to sing along a few times, and she says she thinks he was singing harmony. Mom was very moved that music—one of Dad's most precious mediums of communing with God—brought rest to his body and maybe even his mind.

  1. Beautiful that speaking truth and singing truth come from him and reach him in this time. We are continuing to pray!

  2. Thank you for the updates. Your dad is my sister Amys brother-in—law and I’ve known him and your mom for a long time. Continuing to pray!
