Prayers, Please
Prayer Request:
Last night Dad spiked a fever which the nurses were able to get under control with ice packs and Tylenol. He is also already on a couple of antibiotics to help fight infections. We're waiting for lab results from blood tests and some cultures they took last night. Blood tests we should hear back about today, but the cultures need to sit for 24-48 hours before we'll have results. Please pray that his fever last night was not due to an infection developing and that none develop going forward either.
He doesn't have an appetite this morning either.
Other:
His pain level has been much better yesterday and so far today than over the weekend. He isn't requiring as much medication as he was in the first couple of days. We're thankful that he's coping so well with all of this as far as pain goes.
Dad has been kind of loopy on and off the past couple of days. When he's wide awake he seems completely coherent, but when he is dozing on and off or has just woken up he seems to be mixing his dreams with reality and thinks he's working on some projects. This comes and goes, and we're trying to pay attention to any patterns that emerge regarding whether his confusion is connected to a certain medication or not. It could be due to the trauma, the pain, any one medication or a combination of them, his lack of a steady diet lately. Micah asked him yesterday whether he is stressed out by his loopy thoughts, and he said no, so we're trying to not be concerned about it either. If he was agitated by being a bit delusional we would probably be asking the drs a lot more questions about it, but for now he seems to sleep through most of this.
