PSA: ICU rules

Dear all,

After our first 24 hours of neglecting some of the rules the ICU has in place about visitors while we absorbed the shock of this situation, we’ve decided as a family to be compliant 😉

Only two people may visit with Dad at a time. It’s supposed to be on,y immediate family members, but so far the Day nurse has allowed non-family to come in if a family member is here and says it’s ok. So if you’re planning to visit, text one of us first to make sure somebody is here to give you a pass.

No flowers allowed in the ICU, so if you planned to send something, please send it to Mom and Dad’s house. You can comment with your email address and I can send you the address if you need it. (Anonymous family member - “Do people still send flowers?” I don’t know. I’m just trying to be helpful!)

If you’ve been ill recently or are coughing/sneezing, etc., please send your love via technological means. Dad is at a high risk for infection and we want to be careful of that.

Please take advantage of the hand sanitizer outside his door before coming in.

We haven’t seen any signs about bringing in food or drink. Dad said his hospital breakfast tasted like dog food (Mom - “when’s the last time you ate dog food?”), so feel free to ask whichever family member is here if he wants anything tasty and healthy if you come up.

Unlimited praying allowed and encouraged.

Love,
Lizi
